Peanut Butter Cookies
Here's a simple recipe for making delicious peanut butter cookies:
Ingredients
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Optional: If your peanut butter is unsalted, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix until well blended.
Form Cookies: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
Flatten with a Fork: Use a fork to press the dough balls down. Then, create a crisscross pattern.
Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden. The cookies will be soft when you take them out of the oven, but they will firm up as they cool.
Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve: Enjoy your homemade peanut butter cookies with a glass of milk or as a tasty snack on their own!
Tips
Crunchy Texture: Use chunky peanut butter for crunchy peanut butter cookies.
Mix-ins: You can add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a sprinkle of sea salt before baking for extra flavor.
Storage: Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Enjoy your baking!
