Classic chocolate chip cookies
Here's a simple recipe for making classic chocolate chip cookies:
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup of unsalted butter, at room temperature.
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups of semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter with both sugars. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Use the paddle attachment. Reduce speed to low; add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until well mixed, about 1 minute.
Combine Ingredients: Add flour mixture; mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Form Cookies: On the sheets, drop heaping tablespoon-sized dough balls 2 inches apart.
Bake until the cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from the and let cool on the baking sheet 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely.
