Grilled Chicken Burger
Ingredients:
500g of ground chicken
4 whole wheat burger buns
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of onion powder
4 slices of cheddar cheese
1 cup of lettuce leaves
1 tomato sliced
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
Kitchen Tools Needed:
grill pan
mixing bowl
spatula
measuring cups
knife
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly integrated.
Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the burger buns since they will shrink while cooking.
Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease it if necessary. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F) and have a nice grill mark.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the pan to melt the cheese.
While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat buns on another side of the grill or in a toaster for extra flavor and texture.
Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom bun, adding the lettuce, then the cooked chicken patty with melted cheese, followed by tomato slices. Close with the top bun.
Serve the burgers hot with your favorite sides.
