Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Baking sheet

Biscuit cutter

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the milk and baking soda until just combined.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute.
Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
