Christmas Sprinkle Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup Christmas sprinkles
Kitchen Tools Needed:
Mixing bowl
Baking sheet
Parchment paper
Electric mixer
Cooling rack
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, and mix until combined.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on a cooling rack.
For the cream cheese frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
Once the cookies are cooled, spread a dollop of cream cheese frosting on each cookie and generously sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles.
