Iced coffee
Ingredients
1 cup freshly brewed coffee (strong, for better flavor)
1-2 teaspoons sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
1-2 tablespoons milk, cream, or a non-dairy alternative (optional)
Ice cubes
Instructions
1. Brew the Coffee:
Brew a cup of strong coffee using your preferred method (drip, French press, espresso, etc.).
Let the coffee cool to room temperature, or chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to avoid diluting the ice too quickly.
2. Sweeten (Optional):
If you like your coffee sweet, add sugar to the hot coffee and stir until dissolved. You can also use simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, heated until dissolved) for easier mixing in cold drinks.
3. Assemble the Iced Coffee:
Fill a glass with ice cubes.
Pour the cooled coffee over the ice.
Add milk, cream, or a non-dairy alternative if desired.
Stir well and enjoy!
Tips for Customization:
Cold Brew Option: For a smoother, less acidic iced coffee, try cold brew. Steep coarsely ground coffee in cold water for 12-24 hours, then strain and serve over ice.
Flavored Syrups: Add vanilla, caramel, or hazelnut syrup for a flavored iced coffee.
Dairy-Free: Use almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk for a creamy, dairy-free version.
Coffee Ice Cubes: Freeze leftover coffee in an ice cube tray to prevent dilution as the ice melts.
