 Chocolate Lava Cake



Ingredients:

  • 100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)

  • 100g unsalted butter

  • 150g granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 large egg yolks

  • 50g all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • Cocoa powder for dusting

  • Ice cream for serving (optional)

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Ramekins

  • Mixing bowls

  • Whisk

  • Microwave

  • Baking tray

  • Sifter

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

  • Grease two ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together until smooth, stirring occasionally.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until pale and fluffy.

  • Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and stir until combined.

  • Sift in the flour and add the vanilla extract and salt, folding gently until just combined.

  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared ramekins.

  • Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  • Remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute before inverting onto plates.

  • Serve immediately with a scoop of ice cream if desired.
