Oatmeal with banana and cinnamon
Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats (40g)
1 medium banana (118g)
1 cup water or milk (240ml)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (1g)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (21g)
1 tablespoon chopped nuts (optional, 10g)
Pinch of salt
Kitchen Tools Needed:
Saucepan
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Spoon for stirring
Instructions:
In a saucepan, bring the water or milk to a boil.
Add the rolled oats and a pinch of salt to the boiling liquid.
Reduce the heat to medium and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and have absorbed most of the liquid.
While the oats are cooking, slice the banana.
Once the oats are cooked, remove from heat and stir in the ground cinnamon and honey or maple syrup.
Top the oatmeal with the sliced banana and chopped nuts if using.
