Here's a step-by-step guide to making a delicious veggie pizza:
Ingredients:
Pizza Dough:
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 cup of warm water
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
Pizza Sauce:
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1 garlic clove, minced
Salt and pepper to taste.
Toppings:
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup bell peppers, sliced (red, green, yellow).
1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup red onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup black olives, sliced
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the pizza dough:
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
