Onion Samosa
Ingredients:
2 medium onions, finely chopped
200g of all-purpose flour
50ml of water
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon of garam masala
1 teaspoon of red chili powder
Salt, to taste
Oil, for deep frying
Kitchen Tools Needed:
Frying Pan
Mixing Bowls
Rolling Pin
Sharp Knife
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and set aside for 10 minutes.
In another bowl, heat a tablespoon of oil and add cumin seeds. Once they start to crackle, add the chopped onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
Stir in garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes and then remove from heat.
Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into thin circles.
Place a spoonful of the onion mixture in the center of each circle. Fold and seal the edges to form a triangle shape.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Deep fry the samosas until they turn golden brown on all sides.
Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with chutney.
