Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Here's a classic recipe for Baked Macaroni and Cheese:
Ingredients:
1 pound elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons of butter
4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
4 cups of milk
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste.
1 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
2 tablespoons of melted butter (optional for topping)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish).
Instructions:
Cook the pasta:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Make the cheese sauce:
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes, until it starts to bubble and turn a light golden color.
Add milk in a smooth, flowing motion, whisking until smoothness develops.
