Crispy Fried Fish Balls
Here's a
simple and tasty recipe for crispy fried fish balls:
Ingredients:
White Fish Fillets (such as cod, haddock, or tilapia): 1 lb
Onion: 1 small, diced into tiny pieces
Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
Egg: 1 large
Bread Crumbs: 1/2 cup (plus more for coating)
All-Purpose Flour: 2 tablespoons
Parsley: 2 tablespoons, cut into small pieces.
Lemon Zest: 1 teaspoon (optional)
Salt and pepper: to taste.
Cayenne Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon (optional for spice)
Vegetable oil: for frying.
Instructions:
Prepare the fish mixture:
Cook the fish by steaming or poaching until fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Let it cool slightly, then flake the fish into small pieces with a fork.
In a large bowl, mix: flaked fish, onion, garlic, an egg, bread crumbs, flour, parsley, lemon zest (if using), salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
Mix well until everything is combined and you have a cohesive fish mixture.
Shape the Fish Balls:
Wet your hands with a little water to prevent sticking. Take a tablespoon of the fish mixture and shape it into small balls (about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter).
Once all the fish balls are formed, roll them in extra bread crumbs to coat them evenly. This will give them extra crispiness when fried.
Fry the Fish Balls:
Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
Heat oil to 350°F or 175°C, then add fish balls in groups. Cook for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and crispy.
Remove the fried fish balls with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serve:
Serve the crispy fried fish balls with a dipping sauce. You can use tartar sauce, sweet chili sauce, or aioli.
Garnish with lemon wedges or fresh herbs if desired.
Enjoy your Crispy Fried Fish Balls as a delicious snack
