Grilled Cuttlefish with Lemon & Herbs
Here's a simple recipe for grilled cuttlefish with lemon and herbs:
Ingredients:
500 g fresh cuttlefish, cleaned.
2 tbsp olive oil
Squeeze 2 tablespoons of juice from a fresh lemon.
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste.
Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
Prepare the marinade:
In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, and fresh parsley.
Season the marinade with salt and pepper to taste.
Marinate the cuttlefish:
Put the cleaned cuttlefish in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over it, coating it well.
Let the cuttlefish marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, in the refrigerator.
Preheat the grill:
Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Make sure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
Grill the cuttlefish:
Remove the cuttlefish from the marinade, letting the excess marinade drip off.
Place the cuttlefish on the hot grill. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until it's charred and cooked through. The flesh should be tender but firm.
Serve:
Transfer the grilled cuttlefish to a serving plate. Garnish with extra chopped parsley and lemon wedges to squeeze on top.
Serve hot with a side of crusty bread, a fresh salad, or grilled vegetables.
Tips:
Don't overcook the cuttlefish, as it can become rubbery. Keep an eye on it while grilling.
You can add other herbs like thyme or rosemary to the marinade for extra flavor.
Enjoy your delicious Grilled Cuttlefish with Lemon & Herbs!
