Savory Herb Crackers

 Savory Herb Crackers

Here's a simple recipe to make Savory Herb Crackers at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup water (more if needed)

  • Sea salt (for sprinkling on top; optional).

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Mix dry ingredients. In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose and whole wheat flours, salt, and garlic powder. Then, add the herbs: rosemary, thyme, and oregano. Stir until evenly distributed.

  3. Add wet ingredients. Pour in the olive oil and water. Stir until a dough starts to form. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough holds together.

  4. Place the dough on a flour-dusted surface, then stretch into thin sheet. The thinner the dough, the crispier the crackers will be.

  5. Cut into shapes. Use a pizza cutter or a knife to cut the dough into small squares or rectangles. You can also use a cookie cutter for fun shapes. Transfer the cut dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  6. Bake. If desired, sprinkle sea salt on top of the crackers. Then, bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  7. Cool and serve. Remove the crackers from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, they will be crispy and ready to enjoy.

Tips:

  • You can store the crackers in an airtight container for up to a week.

  • Experiment with herbs and spices, like basil, dill, and paprika, to customize the flavor!

These Savory Herb Crackers are perfect for dipping or snacking! Enjoy them with hummus or cheese spreads.
