 Crispy Chicken with Tomato Sauce



Ingredients:

  • 300g chicken breast

  • 100g breadcrumbs

  • 50g all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 200g fresh tomatoes

  • 50g onion

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 30ml olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • fresh basil leaves for garnish

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Frying Pan

  • Baking Sheet

  • Mixing Bowls

  • Measuring Cups

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Dredge each piece in flour, dip into beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.

  • Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden and crispy on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a baking sheet and finish cooking in the oven for 10-12 minutes.

  • While the chicken is baking, prepare the tomato sauce. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat, add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant.

  • Add chopped tomatoes, sugar, and a pinch of salt to the saucepan. Simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

  • Serve the crispy chicken topped with the tomato sauce and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
